In last week’s episode, 2v3 Wide Open Woman, Huey interviewed poet, artist, author, and avid runner, the Sexy Poet herself, Viola Davies. She is passionate, sensual, and chooses to express these aspects of her personality through her poetry.

Last week we welcomed Donteasia Seymour, inventor, and host of The G Spot Podcast for episode 2v2 Or Better! Donteacia is an innovation strategist and business coach. She dropped some much-needed knowledge on what it’s like being a businesswoman while maintaining her roles as an entrepreneur, single mom, and globe traveler, all while trying to balance her dating and love life.

After a short hiatus, The Book of Huey Podcast is back! We’ve relaunched bigger and better than ever for our second season of relationship talk with a twist of pure fuckery.  We have an amazing new logo which you should check out as well as upcoming engaging interviews lined up this season. In 2v1 What About Your Friends!?, Huey teamed up with Shanta King, the “VA Chick” herself, the host of the What Would Shanta Do? Podcast.  

In this week’s announcements, Huey informed everyone that Trixie decided to leave the show. She has a lot going on in terms of work and personal ventures – some of which we will hear about in this upcoming season. We wish Trixie well on her upcoming projects!

What We Not Gone Do!

We hope everyone had a wonderful holiday as we are now counting down to our Black Ass Christmas! Last week we discussed, 1v4 What We Not Gone Do! Tune-in to last week’s episode by clicking here.

Huey is so sick and tired of everyone thinking he’s hoeing in these streets when simply, he’s just dating around and trying to figure out who’s really there for him. However, when it comes to relationships and breaking up, Huey feels it’s important to tell that person the truth about what went wrong in the relationship. Hopefully, this honesty will help others to see where things went wrong and how to do things better in any future relationships.

Trixie, on the other hand, is really tired of people trying to take advantage of her kindness. She’s working on telling people the truth about what she’s feeling, despite how harsh it may seem at times. It’s just where she is right now until she can find a better balance of not being too abrasive with what she says. Both Huey and Trixie feel that setting expectations, speaking honestly, being assertive, and telling others “what we not finna do” will help set the bar for what they are looking for in how they want their relationships to work.

My Black Ass Thanksgiving

If you didn’t get a chance to hear it Episode 1v2 INYFB, definitely check it out! It’s sure to titillate your mind on what it means to be fetishized amongst several other interesting hot topics.

In Episode 1v3 Black Ass Thanksgiving, Huey and Trixie each had their separate shenanigans. Trixie went through the process of adopting a rescue shelter dog she affectionately named Cash Money. Adopting a new dog was a longer process than anticipated but well worth it considering the gift of potentially being a new puppy mommy! Huey enjoyed a good Friendsgiving celebration with his friends and went to an adult slumber party where he kicked-it, enjoyed hookah, and drank through the night.

Last week, in Episode 1v1 The Road to Pre-Bae, we discussed what it means to feel as though you have been objectified and fetishized in the eyes of another person. Also, we addressed how one’s sense of self-esteem has a personal effect on his or her overall dating life.

Last week we discussed, 1v1 The Road to Pre-Bae and how to get on that road to finding your Pre-Bae. What is “Pre-Bae,” you may ask? It’s just someone that you’re getting to know, you’re dating, you’re kicking it with… your crush, the person you want to “swan dive in their DMs” with, as Huey so eloquently puts!

The Road to Pre-Bae is the process of figuring out how to get back on the dating scene, being vulnerable, facing the various challenges, and exposing yourself to the opportunities in front of you. Just remember, you have to take into account that there is a sense of vulnerability when getting back into dating. Figure out your core values, walk in your truth, and discover what it is you truly want on your Road to Pre-Bae.

The Book of Huey Podcast has the pleasure of introducing you to our host, Huey Booker. Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, Huey has been in the Washington, D.C. area since 2014. 

They have a dedicated aim and focus. Huey has some of the dopest, funniest, most inciteful conversations with his friends. I am HueyMF Booker! My friends describe me as a witty, cunning poet, story-teller, wannabe comedian, and lover of life that breaths in deeply. I crave passion, authenticity, and vibrancy.

2. What is your passion?

I am passionate about getting people to actively live out their truth, particularly in their romantic relationships. I think many of us hide behind our religious beliefs, cultural practices and traditions, and societal norms without ever figuring out who we are outside of these things. I enjoy talking about provocative topics and asking deep, leading questions that poke, probe, and prod in order to get others to critically evaluate their worldview.

3. Why are you passionate about this topic?

I am passionate about this topic because of my own growth and relational maturity that I’ve experienced in the last few years since the end of my engagement which was very impactful on me. Though heartbreaking, the healing process was transformational in helping me to discover my truth, solidify my convictions, and gain a deeper sense of security in the type of life and experiences I want for myself.

4. What can your followers expect from you?

Followers can expect me to be raw and uncut. I yearn for a deeper understanding of the many different expressions of love and purpose. I am committed to creating safe spaces for others to communicative and be themselves all with critical self-evaluation in mind.

In 2013, I was laid off twice for non-performance reasons.  I had recently graduated from business school with hopes of being an HR consultant, but it NEVER HAPPENED FOR ME.  Interview after interview.  Rejection after rejection, you know what I’m talmbout!  I was completely miserable.
